Los Gatos Marshmallow TreatsSuper sweet little kitties (gatos) ready to party down at your fiesta, complete with sombreros and mustaches. These make a great party favor or special treat.
Use pink confetti candy for the nose and candy-coated sunflower seeds for the mustache. Use black edible marker to draw the eyes, whiskers, and mouth. The sombreros are made from half of a golden Oreo accented with yellow icing with colored sprinkles. The “hat” is made from a yellow gumdrop. The hat band is made from green fruit rollup and ears and tail are made from marshmallow pieces. Red fruit rollup was used for the red bandanna. Glue it all together with white melted chocolate.

Sprinkle each tortilla lightly with water and stack them on a plate. Cover the top with another plate turned upside down and microwave the tortillas for 1 minute or until warm. Turn two 12 cup muffin pans upside down. Mist each side of a tortilla lightly with cooking spray and center it in the space between 4 muffin cups, creating a bowl. Repeat with the 5 remaining tortillas, forming 3 bowls on each tin (as pictured above). Bake in the oven for 8-10 minutes.
|Take a cooled batch of sugar cookies and pipe royal icing along the border, then thin your icing and flood the center.While the cookies dry, make the crown of the hat by dyeing a gumball-sized portion of fondant to match the color of the cookie and attach to the center. Pipe decorative lines on the cookie “brim” and roll the edges in sprinkles, then place on top of bright shot glasses filled with milk. If using these as party favors, the shot glasses could be filled with candies or treats.|
