Halloween Baby Shower
A Halloween baby shower can be a real “treat”. Ideas range from just using a black and orange theme to going all out and having a costume party complete with Halloween party foods like Witch’s Brew and finger sandwiches. There are so many ways to use the Halloween theme that we will only scratch the surface here. Decoration ideas are endless: bats, ghosts, cobwebs, candles, flowers, witches… Just not spiders (although you will find some great spider ideas here – but not in my house). I am not a fan of creepy crawlers!
I suggest you try your local resources for decorations whenever possible – Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Partyland, Party City, and Dollar stores. Dollar stores are a fantastic source of decorations for most any event and can be a crafter’s little piece of heaven. Folk art is a great way to decorate for your Halloween event. Either buy or make pieces. If you are a crafter, chances are you have lots of stuff already so that is a great way to reduce your party budget. And, even if you aren’t a crafter, you probably already have plenty of decorations stored away in the hall closet so that you can focus on the food and entertainment instead.
Party Favors are a snap with a Halloween theme. Just set up a candy bar with some small paper bags, or other container, and your guests can go “trick or treating” before they leave!
What party would be complete without a fog effect either coming from a decoration like a pumpkin, or from a punch bowl? Did you know that is the easiest effect to produce? Yep, a piece of dry ice and you can have one of the coolest parties in town!
Personally, my decorating and food tastes lean toward the cute and fun style rather than the scary and gruesome. That still leaves lots of cool Halloween baby shower party foods that can be a fabulous addition to your event. Witch Hat Cookies, Pretzel Funny Bones, Deviled Egg Eyeballs, Skeleton Hat Cupcakes, Pumpkin Spiced Hot Chocolate, Gingerbread Mummies… I could go on and on. You will find the recipes for all those great foods and more here, just scroll down.
