Party Appetizers


Appetizers and snacks, or finger foods as they are better known, are a staple of any baby shower party. Depending on the time of day, they might be all that you decide to serve. So remember to make your appetizers as much a hit at the party as everything else. Also be creative in your presentation! Take basil, sage, oregano and a little bit of chives and diced them up. Add the chopped herbs to softened cream cheese. Put on crackers or veggies. Top with a basil leaf.
BitesHam & Cheese Bites

2 cans of croissants, deli ham, cheese, and butter. Brush the croissants with butter, and roll up with ham & cheese inside. Bake following the package directions. EASY, and delicious.Or, the same thing with a can of pizza dough. Roll it out; add butter, ham and cheese. Rolled it up like a jelly roll. Then bake it, and sliced it into small rolls.

Cucumber Cups

To make the cucumbers cups you simply scoop out some of the inside of the cucumber, as shown and then fill them with cottage cheese, yogurt, nut butters, veggie dips, hummus, salads etc. Also you can save the scooped out bits and add it back on top like a hat.

ShootersBloody Mary Shrimp Shooters

Use your favorite Bloody Mary drink mix (with or without alcohol), pour in shot glasses or shooters and top with a cooked shrimp – deveined and cleaned. Yum!

Pepperoncini Skewers

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened; 18 slices thinly sliced salami; 18 slices pepperoncini peppers, drained, or to taste. Directions: Spread about 1 1/2 teaspoon softened cream cheese over a slice of salami; top with 1 to 3 slices of pepperoncini pepper. Roll the salami around the cheese and pepper; secure with toothpick. Repeat with remaining ingredients; serve immediately.


Ham Rollups

To make them, lay out your ham and spread the cream cheese over the top. Roll the ham lengthwise, then stick toothpicks about an inch apart from each other. Lastly, take a knife or some kitchen shears and cut the ham in between the toothpicks so they are now individual bites. Serve and enjoy!

Veggie Skewers

Using long skewers alternate cherry tomatoes, veggie chunks, black or green olives, cheese chunks. As an alternate, use chunks of salami and ham. Place the decoratively on a round platter or serving tray.

Sausage & Cheese Skewers

Slice your favorite sausage, pepperoni, chorizo, etc. Cube your favorite cheese, feta, goat cheese, etc. Place your favorite herb between the layers and top with green olives. Secure with a cocktail toothpick. Serve.

Strawberries & Angel Food Cake Bites

Alternate Angel Food Cake chunks and Strawberries on Skewers, drizzle with melted Chocolate. You can also include other pieces of fruit, like pineapple, if you wish. Just get some of the longer toothpicks.

Cucumber Flowers
Chicken Salad Apple Bites – Slice apples, add your favorite chicken salad recipe and top with a pecan. Use cookie cutters to make shapes out of your vegetables and fruit. Mashed Potato Mini Bar – Use plastic martini glasses to make a cool appetizer from mashed potatoes. Have toppings like cheese, sour cream, bacon, etc.
